No jewelry is allowed in any classes. Stud earrings only.
Tap/Ballet Combo classes: Girls must wear a solid color leotard, pink tights, pink leather ballet shoes for ballet, and black patent leather tap shoes for tap. Hair must be pulled back off the face and neck into a ponytail or bun. Boys must wear shorts or fitted pants with a fitted t-shirt, white socks and white ballet slippers for ballet, and black patent leather tap shoes for tap.
Level B, C, and D Ballet classes: Girls must wear a black leotard on the first class of the month but may wear any solid colored leotard during the rest of the month with pink tights. Pink canvas or leather ballet slippers are also required. Ballet skirts are allowed, however the student may be directed to remove the skirt if the instructor deems it necessary. Hair must be pulled back into a secure bun. Boys must wear black fitted pants, a white fitted t-shirt and white or black ballet shoes.
Pointe classes: Same attire as ballet classes. See instructor for guidance on pointe shoe choice.
Level B, C, and D Jazz classes: Form fitting clothing is required for both boys and girls. Leotards, stretch pants, stretch shorts with tights underneath, and form fitting short sleeve shirts or tank tops are acceptable. No pajamas bottoms, skirts, loose sweatpants, or large t-shirts. Tights must be worn under any shorts or pants that do not cover the knee. Hair should be secured into either a ponytail or a bun. If the hair in a ponytail can whip into the dancer’s eyes when turning, a bun is most appropriate. Soft leather split soled jazz shoes are required. One For All Dance Academy prefers Capezio® "E" Series Slip On Jazz Shoe (comes in child and adult sizes) in black for level B and in caramel for level C and D (other models may be acceptable, please check with the instructor if you have different shoes).
Level B, C, and D Tap classes: Form fitting clothing is required for both boys and girls. Tights must be worn under any shorts or pants that do not cover the knee. Hair should be secured into either a ponytail or a bun. If the hair in a ponytail can whip into the dancer’s eyes when turning, a bun is most appropriate. Black soft leather tap shoes are required. Adult classes: Loose comfortable clothing that enables easy movement.
Class Placement:
Students are assigned a class level based on age and ability. The instructor reserves the right to move the student up or down in level based on the needs of the student.
Class Etiquette:
- Students are expected to arrive on time, dressed appropriately.
- Students should use the rest room prior to the beginning of class.
- Students who arrive after class has begun should stand inside the door until invited to join the class by the instructor.
- No gum chewing, eating or drinking (other than water) will be allowed in the classroom
- Disruptive behavior will not be tolerated. Any disruptive behavior will result in the student being asked to sit and observe the class, or leave the classroom for the remainder of the lesson.
Class Cancellations:
One For All Dance Academy will make decisions for weekday evening closings by 2:00pm and for Saturday by 9:00am. We will contact the dancer's parents via phone and email and post it to our facebook page. We will not necessarily close for all Howard County School closings though we will take school closings into account when making our decision.
Make-up classes:
If for any reason a student must miss a class they are encouraged to attend a makeup class within 1 month. Please speak with your instructor for placement.
